So far, we have had only limited support for modifications and third-party plugins in iWiccle. With the upcoming release of Wiccle 1.0 and the subsequent iWiccle 1.20, that's about to change. Along with internal modification management, we're working hard to provide you with easy and stable third-party plugin support.

Now, the world is full of all sorts of interesting modules, plugins, applications and whatnot — and we can't possibly support them all out of the box. Therefore, we'd like to hear everyone list their "Top 5" list of third-party plugins (WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, other systems, or independent applications) you'd really like to see integrated into your iiWiccle/Wiccle website.

Please post your ideas and request lists to Fusion Forums under the Wiccle Future category. Remember to list the following when you post your top five lists (please keep it at five only, we need to focus), and list the following for each plugin:

  • Plugin name
  • Plugin platform (if any)
  • Short description of what it does.
  • URL to a page with more information.

While we don't expect you to do all the homework on providing us with specs for the applications/modules/plugins you wish to see featured in iWiccle/Wiccle, please ensure that it can be used or has been used as a plugin, or otherwise integrated, to an existing web and PHP/MySQL based software before. Now let's hear those requests!

Not so much of a plugin per se, but I for one could use a splash/entry/landing page where people get an idea what is inside and have to join prior to seeing the full enchilada. They can choose to either login if they're a member, register if not or leave if they don't want to enter. This works for me since mine will be an adult natured site.

You can currently set the site to "force login" mode (that wouldn't display a splash page though). You can also configure user groups' access and permissions for each module (Users > Usergroups). From Wiccle 1.0 and iWiccle 1.20 onwards, you will also be able to control usergroups access on a per-page basis, giving you all the control you need.

Thanks Markus - I was thinking that using the force login does "kind of" allow for some sort of entry/splash page.... if I can adjust the look of that login page. For instance, remove all the links to different functions of the site and only have adverts/description of the site's features.

If you want to hack around, open languages/en/lang_modules.php and find:

$lang['site_in_private_mode'] = "This site runs in private mode — please log in.";

Swap it from quotes to heredox format, and add in whatever HTML you will.

$lang['site_in_private_mode'] = <<

Whatever in here. Splash
And as much as you care to add.

WIC;

It's a hack, but works just fine until another solution is coded in. (I'll make it a point to add that in.)

Here are my suggestions

1. Provision to Subscribe to the event so that user can get reminder.

2. Award system (point system) for the user. Based on their contribution to the community, the user level will change.

3. It will be nice to see user created groups eg. meetup group. This can be tied to #2 to grant permission to create the group.
