When we roll out our Fusion Resources and further open up the Wiccle Shop / Fusion Marketplace for independent developers to upload their work for sale, there will be a structure where the available extensions are clearly divided into sections, such as:
- Templates (complete template sets with sub-color themes)
- Themes (color extensions to a template set)
- Modules (new modules you can plug into the system)
- Extensions (functionality extensions and third-party software integration layers)
If you didn't read the Fusion Resources blog yet, read before you continue to get the full context.
Further, to provide a market where people get expected value for their money, I am sketching together a grid where extensions with different production value automatically come to a certain price range. For an example with templates (at possible community pricing):
- Color theme only - 5-10€
- Basic template set - 10-25€
- Complete template set - 15-40€
- Advanced template set - 20-60€
This division will also make quality monitoring easier, as every entry will have a value context, and will then be easier to evaluate for respectable quality and value. We definitely don't want to have a market where every cheapskate tries to sell something essentially worthless for a hundred euro; we've all seen that, it's not pretty, and it's not going to be the standard here.
We want to provide for a basically free market platform to encourage and support developers, but will need to have certain quality checks and pricing direction in place to make sure we also provide a safe and friendly environment for the buyers.
Any thoughts on the above from the community here?
