Is this a widget-based thing that can be borrowed from Google, or are we talking about coding this from a scratch?

thanks for asking about this markus

Hell NO I wouldnt want you to build this from scratch, this is actually a wiget from google and this would be nice to be able to intergrate it into Wiccle in the near futur

It may be possible to even do it with 1.11. I'll need to look at this more carefully.

I just added an igoogle webcam chat widget using iwiccle widgets and it works fine, the only problem i have is adding more widgets as widget has only one listing in page builder menu.

When you add more widgets, more widgets should appear in your builder menu. Do they not? I recall testing it with a couple of widgets when I worked on it for 1.0... Widget support is still pretty slim in contrast to what we want to do in terms of widget-integration, but I think it's easy enough and a start. =)

You can of course also copy any widget's script to the HTML area of a Custom Unit, but that won't have the benefit of being reusable as an added widget does. Individual widget addition and increased member control over profile portals is also on the feature list, something we would have added already were it not for lack of time. We want to offer the option to let every member customize their own profile page boxes with a cut-down basic version of the Wiccle Builder, aside the usual background etc. color controls.

In fact I think I'll cook up a builder that lets the admin control what CSS switches the user can change, and to which options! Preselected options are always safer and prettier to use, though we can of course also add in a "riot field" (such as you see creating most of the visual terrorism at MySpace and the such) if someone really wants one. And these can of course be exported, just like you will be able to import and export your individual page layouts in the future! (Actually you can already export... just not import! so the layout exporter is currently switched off from your iWiccles.)

For the next release, we will also have support (already coded in) for including external files (that return a variable, and as such can contain any kind of code) from /templates/includes through a simple include command in our template scripting language. Cool

My bad, I'm sorry, the Widget setup seems to have a little bug lurking somewhere in there! I'll see that this is in perfect order for the next release. For now, you need to go and edit your widgets and manually add them an identifier (anything a-z/0-9 will do). This should make them appear in your Widget options.

After you update Widgets, you will need to close your browser and reopen it to reload the widget cache and let it show in the browser ---- I also need to add a cache refresh into the admin panel for widget editing actions. ... Added in now, and fixed for next release! (Or if you want to be a good hobbyist, stick " unset($_SESSION['log']['grid_widget_formats']); " anywhere in the beginning of function site_widgets() in admin_area_site.php (#754 ff.) and get an instant fix).
