Whenever a new user/member is going to create an account after entering their username, selected password, email, etc, and click on the submit button, it gets the following error message.

The weird thing is that the user shows as registered after the error

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Any ideas what's wrong?

Hi,

Looking into it but my guess would be a server issue config first. I will get one of the lads here to look into it and get back to you shortly. We had internal server errors on folders installs before which required the permissions to be set correctly, not sure if this is the same.

Any updates on this error? I'm still having the same issue even after changing the permission to 777 in all the cores files

Thanks

Hi
I will have a look into this for you. It might be necessary for you to message me ftp signons to your server so I can have a dig around and isolate the problem.

Hi

If you could send me URLs etc. I could look into this further for you. In the meantime I have had a look through the forum and found these posts that could be useful.

Cause of the problem with 500 Server Error messages, as discovered from daryllau's installation:

  • Folder permissions 0777 for install folder causes all php-scripts in the folder to return a server error.

This seems to be a security restriction enforced by some hosts. It may also cause the file download prompt --- that I have not been able to study in live environment yet.

This issue is fixed by:

  • Return /install folder permissions to 0755.
  • Use this installer file (just updated).

This solution uses the /tmp folder for storing the config.php file, and will be the default solution for all future installers.

Special thanks to daryllau for access to his server, fixing this and the following issue would have been difficult without it.

Cause of download prompts turned out to be the following line in the .htaccess file:

  • AddType application/x-httpd-php .php

This line was there as a backup in the silly case that someone's server might not be set for parsing php files by default. As it turns out, it removed the valid handler from some Apache installations, leaving the server clueless as to what headers should be served out (options being a HTML document or an unknown file).

Solution for this problem:

  • Delete the line above from your .htaccess file, or
  • Delete the entire .htaccess file (Smart URLs will not work).

The default .htaccess file will smarter in terms of maximum compatibility for the next release.

(You should also remove the DirectoryIndex index.php statement if you have files in non-iWiccle folders under the iWiccle installation that need to act as default pages, such as index.html.)

I am seeing same problems on my first install. i see from facebook that markus is no longer working for Wiccle, is there a new software developer we can contact with technical problems?

Hi,

The support forums (which needs an update on soon) is the main area for technical questions or issues. As SiDay asked, please email him directly your logins so we can see the server settings as the Internal server error has something to do with your host config and Simon will be able to fix it once he has access. Most hosts work fine with the Wiccle systems as we use the standard PHP / MySQL languages.

As for the new software developer, there is now up to 20 software developers on board working away on the updates and they will shortly be focusing attention on the forums. The rest of the team here is capable of fixing most common issues that arise so lets see if we can figure out whats going on with the host with this server error. :)

Thanks for posting!
