Hey, i was curious to see if there would be some kind of reward system where users have insentives to post to collect points/karma in return they can buy special access to modules on the website maybe with set or unlimited time, also buy extra features and allowances, perhaps a gift shop where users can purchase little badges for there profile? or perhaps other little perks./....what do you guys think of this mod idea? 

Works well on vBulletin. It's a small thing that keeps the members active on the site, which in turn is good for them and us. Win/Win.

This is coming up, and in fact I am developing it specifically for Wiccle.com / Fusion use. Here's how it works.

Each "action" a user takes goes through an action-handling function, that among other things calculates points, prompts for publishing to facebook connect / user action feeds, etc.

On each action, you can assign different point counts (also on per module basis), for example 1 point for comments, 5 for blog posts, etc. This will be included as an "overlay" to the current usergroup permission management grid. (Premium member options and "pay-per-action" will be rolled in with the same logic -- one system for giving, and one for taking.)

An affiliate program is also an upcoming Wiccle.com extension, to be rolled out to WWB as an affiliates module. You can then also connect affiliate references (and conversions) to member points, or credits, aside possible sales/referral commissions that are logged. And since we want to also let members convert member credit to "Wiccle Cash" to use in our Store and the upcoming Market (for extensions and templates), this is a feature you'll also see in WWB after all this is rolled out at Wiccle.com.

yeah i truely believe the points system will be good, gives general insentive to users to keep contributing. for example, i believe when users can use points for fun stuff it makes them want to be around more, not just for the forum/posting side of things but able to perhaps go to a mini store and spend the points on buying access to certain partts of the website, a certain forum section or other rights such as little badges and so fourth for profiles, sending cash to other users....i'm not sure what else you could use points for but perhaps leave it open for users developing say for instance...a online video to mp3 convertable website/plugin, they can easily add this into the website and allow users to then spend points on converting the video's (this was just an example)

Good points, taken on board for the future release of the points system for wicclecom plus adding it to WWB as a new module cross the system feature. 

We are wrapping up a dozen new mega showcase sites over the next 4 weeks using WWB, which then afterwards we will introduce the points system a week later. We will be issuing a small update to WWB before then. As we are growing, we will be able to attractive more man-power to help roll out updates faster, re-work wiccle.com and much, much more

I actually already have a 1.0.1 build coming up, I've been fixing and extending things around a bit as I've chipped away at ongoing projects. When I get a moment, I will write a feature blog detailing new fetures I have on the pipeline for immediate future releases. In the meantime, keep the feature requests coming.

Once the points system is in place, it will work across the board for everything, so you can customize your site to give and spend points wherever you wish. (Just as you can charge payments with the same actions if you wish.)
