Only now am I grasping the full capabilities of the Page and Menu builders - WOW!

This is truly great stuff and really does put iWiccle well ahead of the rest.

Thanks guys.

Thanks John! Some of the functionality in iWiccle is quite new to the market, and I'm sitting here waiting for them to catch on. When Keith initially requested me to produce a WYSIWYG site builder system, and referenced some other products on the market, rather than attempting to copy some I went ahead and produced something that made sense to me as a builder tool. I suppose that was all for the better!

I still haven't gotten around to documenting the extensions you can add to the builder... Anyone with a bit of hobby spirit can look at /core/layout_grid.php for the builder grid basis and e.g. /modules/members/members_config.php for the logic with which you add your custom units with their classes and methods to the builder system. Here's something I have just completed working on: Layout export and import. (Layout means the three-tier bundle of layout->columns->units, or "boxes", that make up a single page / page type layout, as seen below.)

Using the Layout Export/Import tool, you can export and save any one of your custom layouts, and import it into new pages, or share it with others. The import/export tool has been coded to handle layout->column->unit correlations across databases, making it possible to share layouts across everyone using the same / compatible version of iWiccle!

This feature will be rolled out in the next major update to iWiccle, released momentarily after the completion of Wiccle 1.0 in two weeks. And while we're on the topic, cool new builders will be deployed for several Wiccle modules. Cool

The layout mass importer/exporter is now active and working in the Wiccle 1.0 dev admin panel. With this, you can for example tune your Video module into a YouTube configuration, and then export and share it --- or even sell it! Layouts are compatible with just about any skin people may want to combine them with.

I am also coding in features for "mirror units",  "global units" and more --- concepts that bring our element-based builder to yet a new level. "Mirror unit" feature means you pick any ready-configured builder box of your choice, and then save it as "Root element", making it available as a new entry under the Units dropdown, working much like a widget. "Global units" are units (such as an ad block) that are forced into each layout, globally or on a per-module basis, without your needing to add them in individually.

Additionally, there will be a bunch of ready templates (instead of just "blank" and "post style") you can use (or add your own!) for a basis for your custom units. (You can even do it now by adding in a new skin element into core/layout_grid.php under the custom unit section.) And a bunch more that will be of definite interest to people looking for a powerful site builder tool.
