I just clicked on the favorites icon for a post, and it came up over the left column, but under the right column of the page.  Also, the Cancel button did not work.

bug?

FYI on other bugs - also continuing to have the same issues when I try to upload an image (currently using Safari on Mac) - I click on New Upload, then choose file, then after choose file, I click on Upload and 10 minutes later it is still trying to upload.  File is not large.  Even after I submit the post and return via the View Post link, I cannot upload an image.  I had to click on the "Updated Threads" link, then on this post, and then to edit this post, and then adding the image worked.

And same issues on Firefox/Mac - if I go to your Wiccle site, I can never get past a few clicks on the site before it locks up, every time.

The fav pop-up box problem, yes there is a bug there with the Safari browser.

We actually keep up with the W3c standards with our development but we still have to check all browsers. While we have fixed many with IE versions in particular! We are going to add a Mac machine to Markus desk in the very near future so we can future proof the browsers on this hardware.

For the upload issue, I tried but failed at getting the same problem you are experiencing. How large is the image file ? Also have you tried another browser say Chrome and does it happen there too ? A hard refresh and clearing the cache might also help remove problems encountered. =)

With the lock-ups, can you tell me what else happens with the browser your using in accessing wiccle.com ? I know we have to update the system in regarding the FireFox browser in the next update as those guys have been doing plenty of updates recently - which is causing a few issues (as with any CMS !) with the system here - however other browsers such as Chrome, IE (god help us with IE 9 - see what surprises they have in for us), etc in general are working fine.

Just to note - Firefox + other browsers that people can use on both Mac & Windows are two different rendering engines (in displaying the graphics / screen of sites) of two different OS systems that have slightly different rendering processes. So while the developers of these browsers will issues updates - they tend to do slightly change parts due to the OS / Hardware of a Mac vs PC. It's a common problem I have faced for many years in regarding games development and browsers do follow the same rules here as they must render out the screen for you (its not all css for ya!). :)

Keep the posts coming please, very grateful for them !

Sorry for taking my time to get back to these; I am now working from Finland for the next week, visiting family, and there's been some serious heavy lifting again on the customer project fronteer. (With a respectable chunk of parallel software development!)

The favorite popup bug is simple enough to fix; the favorite popup is one of the few that are still routed into an inline div, making its stacking order relative to the surroundings, instead of leaving it atop. It appears that it's between the two in the current build, thereby also killing the cancel button. (I have already done this fix for the bulk of the popups.) Bug tagged for fixing into next release.

Freeze issue: I am a bit at a loss for explanations, and we need to crank up the debug gear. If I were to 1) upload a copy of Wiccle.com to a separate server, and 2) upload a static HTML version to this server, could you please then click around and see if you can still replicate the freeze? It will then help narrow this down to something I can actually investigate, to know whether it's the server or the software causing it for you. (Has anyone else experienced this yet?)

File uploads: Does this happen consistently, or at random? (Please feel free to test upload as much as you like.) And when it happens, are there any other anomalies immediately before, or after, or elsewhere on the page that would indicate something more might be going on?
