Hello all,

I was going to send an email to the Wiccle team but was not sure which address to use so decided to post here instead.

I have been drawn to your Wiccle software as It contains a lot of items that i have been searching for as seperates, however your software has all the items i need (auction/classifieds/shop/premium membership etc).

My question is though How do I set up the payment options for each of these? as i cannot find PayPal (or any other payment) setting options anywhere, or maybe im just overlooking something.

Auctions - I'd like to set up fees simular to eBay, eg insertion fee / final value fee.

Classified Ads / Premium membership - Premium membership would allow my customers posting rights to a set value (eg £50) for classified ads, and/or a fee just to post an ad.

Shop - Would only allow admin users to list items, however still need a method to collect customer payments / orders.

Also as a new business starting with a budget of £0, how flexible are the payment terms for the initial 1 year lisense while I am building a customer base? (eg pay a certain amount each month for up to 6 months, eg 60EUR)

This is for two reasons,

1, your software seems to be best to suit  my needs from what i've seen so far (compared to the likes of Dolphin etc), but starting out in business with  minimal cash flow.

2, Although i can see that you have put a lot of time, effort and money into creating this software, if i'm honest i have never heard of you before. Despite numerous searches looking for software to meet my needs your website has only just started to appear in my search results, So although you do seem to be a geniune company, please accept that i'm a bit wary of sending loads of money to someone i've never heard of especially when we all hear of all these con artists online that take your money then run.

Any way thanks for reading this post and giving me some info on this payment module that i can't find, and i'm sorry for having some (potentially negative), things to say in my first post.

Hi Russell,

Welcome to the community here at Wiccle Fusion. Glad to hear you find Wiccle as an ideal package for your next online business compared to other systems. As you mentioned, we are new (two years going in October) and our marketing has been kept pretty low since then as we are a small team with limited resources. We are just beginning to expand this and it's good to hear we are now appearing in search results. =)

The paypal options you seek is not in Wiccle Web Builder yet by default. We have stated for any Wiccle Web Builder member that needs a payment gateway, be it Paypal, Worldpay, Realex, and so on, we will directly intergrate this gateway in for their package.

As seen with the recent "Showcases" on Wiccle.com, we have intergrated two different types of gateways - Paypal - & - Realex -. However we are now putting these options into the next update build of Wiccle Web Builder and is here is the screenshot of it.

Paypalwiccle

For the custom features needed on Auctions, Classifieds / Premium membership and Shop (store module), these are in fact built across a few of our showcase sites but are not in the default build yet. We will be adding these to the next system (along with a massive amount of new features) update that is coming in November / December.

I am adding a "Trac" system to Wiccle.com soon so you can see everything we have built (thats going into the next update), features / modules we are currently building and what we would like to add thats not in any custom showcase build or such. If you see something we don't have in Wiccle, please let us now by posting here or when the Trac is added.

It is perfectly normal and good to judge new products / companies to make sure they are geniune, so I don't mind at all if you ask this in the public forums here as it might help others like yourself who could be thinking the same.

As with any leading CMS platform on the market today they must always start somewhere where we are unknown and as I mentioned we have been keeping ourselves pretty quiet since our system releases as to focus as much attention on coding to improve them while also developing showcases to give everyone a good example of whats possible with Wiccle.

If you go to the Company section of Wiccle.com, you get to see info on the company which includes the company number you can look up at www.cro.ie and if your wanting - order our limited accounts of last year (as every Limited / private company must do). Our staff profiles show who is involved and if you "google" my name - you can see a pretty long history already on the net plus the management business profiles on LinkedIn. Needless to say on the Showcase section we have a few business websites there that we deal with real businesses and still many more showcase sites to put up yet.

If there is anything I can help to show we are geniune - just let me know. I plan in the near future to bring everyone on a tour of our office here, meet the staff and much more.

With the times we live in currently, there are even more con artists that are trying to promise everything from top page results in google to giving free websites away that will make you millions. I have come across many of these this year with our showcase customers and these con artists are very good sales people I can tell you! On that note, if anyone here is not sure about these type of scams and you get calls / letters, feel free to post here at Fusion - as we have our ear to the ground on these matters in order to protect our members.

As for the payment terms, you will need to directly email me (keith [at] wiccle.com) and I will see what is possible. At some point in the future when we have extra boots on the ground here, we would love to add in the monthly subscription model which includes hosting. When opening this "hosting + wiccle subscription) - it is almost another business in itself so we need extra man-power to maintain it. Otherwise it would be open to everyone as we have a decent hosting setup ready for such a step.

If you got questions Russell, feel free to post here!

Hello Keith,

Thank you for your reply.

Re Payment Gateways - Am I right to assume then that the PayPal option will be part of the download in the upcoming release (november/december)?,

Or would it still need to be added in by yourselves as in the case at the moment?

I will play around with your current release and see how easy it is to administer/change text, layout etc wich will be fun as a 'non tecky', but as before i do like the look of this script.

So three more software questions

1, How do i change text in system text? - eg on the Auction page - right hand side you have your loge with Auctions written across it, that is fine but how do i edit the text under it? (this would also apply to other departments store/dating/chat etc)

2, Also i cannot find a user guide anywhere, so how would i add a module to different page? for example can I have a box on the home page that shows 2 0r 3 latest additions to the auction, latest offers/best seller in the store etc

3, When moving onto a paid version eventually - Does the Powered by Wiccle bar (the one that states 30 day trial), get auto removed or is this something that has to be done manually?

Many thanks again for your help.

Russell

Hi Russell,

The payment gateway for Paypal will be added to the Wiccle system as part of the download of a new build and as part of an upgrade script from the current build to the next one. You will not need ourselves to add in Paypal as a manual option with the next update. Until then, say if or anyone else got the Enterprise License - we would add it in as part of our special offer.

Once you add in content to Wiccle, it is much better in showing how everything can be changed, updated and added. I intend to add a few sample packs as found in demo.wiccle.com where content is already included - this is to make the first 5 minutes better in showing the system off rather than add in the content first to really start testing.

1. The Auctions and other modules Info unit box is a special box added - the text can't be changed with this unit box as it is just built for the demo site. We didn't expect anyone to want to change this unit box.

But lets say for example this unit box was a normal custom one, you can then change the text and images around quite easy. So let's create a new unit box to show this off:

  • On the Auctions page, click at the top - Start Builder - (right beside your login details and Admin CP)
  • On Column #2 (or any) click on the "Edit Contents" unit box icon (every unit box has this icon).
  • The Wiccle Builder Floating Box will now expand with the details of this unit box.
  • From the top down you have, Layout (Page your on), Column, Box and so on. Click on New (button) beside the Box section. This will now create a new unit box (scroll down to the bottom if you need to see it).
  • This is my way of creating a new unit box, when you first "start builder", you can simply click "expand" on the Wiccle Builder Floating box, select the "column" you want to edit (if you have more than 1), select the box drop-down menu to see the unit boxes you have or click "new" to create the unit box.
  • The new unit box has added a "custom" unit box by default in the Box Type in the Wiccle Builder Floating Box. Custom unit is used as the main type to change / add text / images / etc.
  • Select "Rounded Padded" in the "Base" option, click save and now you will a style format applying to that unit box.
  • If you look further down the Wiccle Builder you will see an option called "Use Editor" - click on this and new Floating box will now appear with an editor built into it. Here you can add text, images (right hand side of the unit box), and so on.
  • I have created a quick example of this here: http://demo.wiccle.com/index.php?module=auctions&reload=1
  • Scroll down on this page link to see a unit box called "Custom Box". I simply highlighted the text + image of the "Actions Box" on this page, paste (CTRL + V) it into the editor of that new custom unit box I created and clicked save. Now I did have to center the image and removed any spaces created by the copying to make it look like the "Actions Box".
  • If you can follow this, you can create as many unit boxes as you like or make a whole page (one column + one custom unit box) or any number of columns / unit boxes as you like (you can drag and drop unit boxes by clicking - picking it up - dropping into the "box drop area".

2. A user guide is in the making - we have so much to do here in dev we have not the chance to publish one yet but other staff members are working on it for both the End-User as well for Programmers.

We have basic guides coming up extremely soon here on Wiccle.com and videos. There is plenty of info across the forums but they need to be put together into one place.

You can turn Modules on and off through the Admin CP. If you want to create a new custom Page -

  • In the URL bar of your browser, you will something like this : index.php?module=auctions
  • Create a new page by adding this: index.php?module=auctions&show=NEW_PAGE_EXAMPLE
  • A new page will now appear (blank) and the name of this page is: NEW_PAGE_Example  or it can be anything you want (mypage_1, newpage, etc)
  • You can start adding columns and unit boxes or you can use the "backup" option to import another page you have saved from somewhere else on the site. This backup / import tool (in the Wiccle Builder) is very handy for creating new pages without having to rebuild every page, just use a page you have done as a template for other new pages.

You can on the homepage show from 1 to 5 to 10, etc the number of latest additions (2 or 3 need to be added by the drop down option otherwise its easy to change the code script itself to add this). You can show off a whole range of options from Popular, Dates, Rated, etc. Including a "Featured" of the latest products that you as admin can pick from the various products in actions, store, articles, etc.

The upcoming guide and videos will show how easy this is.

3. The powered by wiccle advertisement banner bar will be auto removed as soon as you put in a paid license, you will not need us to manually remove it. The footer can be changed in the Admin CP.

I have abit more time coming up over the next few weeks to focus on getting these end-user guides up and running here, stay tuned for them! :)

Until then, if you need help, keep posting =)

Once you get the hang of the system, everything becomes very easy to edit, change and add. You will only need to know how the logic works and it is a breeze then.

A small side note to help you eval Wiccle Web Builder for your online business venture.

Apart from the modules, feature sets and plenty more coming soon in the upcoming releases. Any online business website needs very good ranking and Wiccle Web Builder has a built in SEO Engine for this. For most CMS platforms, including the leading Open Source ones - they simply don't have this and while they have tried to improve it to perform better, to get anywhere close to what Wiccle can do, the system builders of these platforms will simply need to rebuild from the beginning their content management systems in order to include the processes needed to help push the SEO side of the end-user content added.

In short when we started to build iWiccle and Wiccle, we had SEO in mind and so we built in various parts that will help improve a website in ranking by using the correct headings, and a whole range of recommended SEO areas by default - even if you don't know the first thing of SEO - Wiccle takes care of it for you as you add in your content across your site.

If you look at the Showcases on Wiccle.com, the Wiccle system just rocks with many of these sites where they achieve high ranking within months of release in their local area, national country and some in good positions across the International search engines. Since a purpose built SEO Engine has not been created before for many CMS platforms, we were not sure how well it would perform for websites and businesses with target keywords but to our surprise many times - it has worked amazing!

Even with Wiccle.com, we recently changed the whole look of the website and moved it from a very early beta version of Wiccle Web Builder to the 1.0 you can download today. This change took place on the 14 of August and the search results of Wiccle.com has flew off the chart with two of the main keywords we used (community builder and cms builder) across all google regional sites (europe, asia and usa). For a year before hand, Wiccle.com went up in ranking getting to 2nd or 3rd pages but with the site moved to the full Wiccle Web Builder version 1, in a matter of weeks we started to appear in page 1 results and growing.

Now we need to increase our target keywords here but that is pretty good going I must say.

So the bottom line is for an online business, Wiccle includes plenty of modules which still need plenty of feature-sets to add in yet but does a decent job at it so far. It is very easy to change everything around once the logic understood and the 4 to 5 main action functions is undestood (from A to B in knowing what to do) and then you add in the factor that the SEO Engine works a charm - here stands a good system for small businesses to take on bigger players at very little cost.

However because Wiccle is a generation #1 build, we still got a long road to go and plenty more to pack in, to explain about in guides, make it even slicker and easy enough that anyone can produce high-end quality business websites with a bit of time on their hands - a goal we would like to see become reality in the near future. A universal CMS for both the end-user and pro designer / developer. =)

A few notes on the PayPal question in the current build.

There is actually a basic one-way PayPal implementation in WWB 1.0.1. To receive payments from Store, open store_config.php to change the PayPal e-mail address, and the checkout screen will give you a PayPal button to pay for your cart in bulk to your account.

The version that has now been added for the next build supports the customizations you see in the above screenshot (easily extendable), and itemized PayPal checkout with discount and shipping carried to PayPal invoices. I also have ready beta code for PayPal secure payment confirmation to support real time stock quantities etc., but this would require further testing and development time to be rolled in.

Changing the module info boxes.

It is actually possible to change them if you want to have your own "module intro" boxes available in the Builder — they aren't hard-wired, and in general whatever exists in our CMS can be customized somewhere.

  • The "module logos" are located in /templates/images and named as module_articles.png etc.
  • The description in bold typeface under the "module logo" is the exact same as is shown in the main menu mouseover descriptions. It comes from the "Description" field of the module in Admin CP > Modules.
  • If you want to have additional text under the bold, you can add whatever further notes you want into /languages/en/lang_modules_info.php.

Of course it's entirely another question whether it's easier to just create a new custom box and stick in whatever content you want — I dont' think I've ever done anything but clicked "Delete" with these module intros... That's not to say you couldn't invent a hundred useful customized applications for them. We provide the tools, you come up with the ideas. =)

Fetching content from modules.

If you want to for example fetch the latest 10 blog posts in medium-size format to any page on the site, you create a new unit box and choose the builder options as follows:

Latest 10 Blogs with Builder

Same principle applies for all modules. You can also learn how different content combinations have been done simply by opening up a page in the builder, clicking on the "Edit" icon in the section you want to inspect and look at the builder options that have been chosen. There's nothing you need from outside the builder to create every variant of content combination supported by the CMS or seen anywhere on our sites.

Certain features in some modules like Store and Members may require extra considerations in cross-module content enveloping due to some dependency issues that exist — but let's cross that bridge when you get there.
