If you experience problems with TinyMCE editor or any other javascript functionality, or are experiencing strange display anomalies all of a sudden, be sure to check that you don't have Skype extension installed for Firefox. It is poorly produced, and apparently has no idea of where it's allowed to replace stuff and where it should keep its hands off from.

If you install the Skype plugin, those fun little green blobs are stuck everywhere, including all places where they really shouldn't go.
I don't have the screenshot handy, but not so long ago when this last happened to me, Skype was so "helpful" that when I browsed SQL databases with PHPMyAdmin, it replaced all unix timestamps in the database with "call with Skype" icons. Apparently it munches up any and all number series that resemble phone numbers, and you really don't want that to be happening in the middle of your inline javascripts...
Steer clear of Skype Firefox Plugin to keep your web applications working well.
