Hi Markus,

While editing a previously posted article I noticed an 'Add Page' option so I thought I'd give it a try. I came across a number of problems as follows:

  1. I added a second page without any problems - I published it and clicked 'View Now' - my page looked fine. All good so far.
  2. When I viewed my original post (page 1) - it said Pages: 3 - there were definitely only 2 pages.
  3. There is no way to access Page 2. There is no reference on page 1 (other than Pages: 3 which is not a clickable link) which enables me to access Page 2.
  4. Page 2 does not display anywhere - there is no way to access it. If I'd paid attention to the url I could have placed a link to it at the bottom of Page 1.

As a 'nice to have' the 'Add Page' option should sit alongside Publish & Preview, rather than showing-up after selecting to edit the post, and all pages be published at the same time.

I tried this out of curiosity, not necessity, so no urgent attention necessary.

It went in as slightly experimental a feature rolled out with 1.20, but I did test it and it should be working alright. I'll do a double check on this once I get the daily rush with meetings and the rest out of the way; it's possible something that dropped out of sync with the 1.21 release.

In the meantime, would you like to try it in our online demo and see if the problem persists? Then we can start looking straith away if it's a thing in your setup or a shared problem.

Replicated the exact problems in the demo system. Same page numbering problem. Same disappearing page 2 - which appears to have something to do with tags and/or associated image. Here's why I say that:

1. Created a new article. All good.

2. Went in to 'Edit' and created Page 2. All good.

3. Viewed Page 1 - it had pagination reference to page 2 as well as a drop-down selector for page 2. However it did say Pages: 3.

4. Selected and viewed Page 2. All good except for the fact that it said Pages: 1.

5. I then remembered that (in my site article) I had inserted tags and an associated image.

6. Went back in to Eit and added tags and an associated image.

7. Went in to view the article and page 2 had disappeared. No reference to it anywhere on page 1 (which still said Pages: 3). Pagination and page selector had gone.

8. Tried accessing page 2 via the url by appending _-_page_2 to the article - no luck.

9. Went back in to Edit and removed the tags and associated image to see if that would reinstate page 2. No luck. Page 2 is nowhere to be found. Article still says Pages: 3.

Thanks for the double-trouble-checking this. I will make sure it works in 1.21.1, which is in the process of going out tonight. It will also bring in all those config extension files, so you don't need to revise your customizations whenever we roll in new settings. (Should have been done ages ago; but it only became topical with your experimentations!)

Thanks to the above list, I can replicate the issue, and it has to do with the "page" subtype of post I introduced with 1.20, that obviously still has an issue or two to iron out. Article pagination data is saved in a separate post_cache field, and when a page is added things need to be updated across the subpages and so on; somewhere along the line I managed to have it displayed right — one of the last things to go into 1.20 — and assumed it was fine. Will fix momentarily.

1.21.1 is still in works; had to take a bit of time off to relax and recover last weekend (two half days off Tongue out). It's my week in Galway about to start, and the final crunch is in motion.

I have crunched away at this for an hour or two, edited pages from every angle, and gotten all the postprocessors and preprocessors in order (with some new core extensions in place to make it smooth across the board).

1.21.1 is done and dusted here, the remaining known bugs chipped away. We are preparing for a combo launch of 1.21.1 and WWB 1.0 for Friday, a bottle of champagne lined up for the occasion. Cool

In the wake of that, as we have our flagship CMS monster out of the door, you will be seeing global campaigns raging in every direction, with upgrades and updates at Wiccle.com, and much more lined up. It's all been waiting for the coming of WWB, and you can believe we're on the verge of bursting to get out in grand style and get the rest of the pieces in our puzzle fall into place. So far it's all been about building the foundation (and a good year did it take), and things at Wiccle HQ are now ready to rock.

The circle is closing. Expect to see lots of buzz at Wiccle.com in the weeks to come!
