Hi Keith,

Now that someone has confirmed what we have all suspected for quite a while (that Markus has left), can you share with us the plans for the future of Wiccle/iWiccle?

As an early-adopter of iWiccle (and still a user), I am saddened to know that Markus is no longer a part of the company/product. Markus holds "The Software Guru" status (in my mind), so I imagine it would be extremely difficult, if not impossible, to replace him. Regardless, if the product is going to move forward, I'll stay with it. If it's not (and I fully understand why), I'd like to know so as to determine the future of my site (which has been awaiting an upgrade/bug fixes for some time).

Thanks in advance,

John

Hi John,

No news is good news they say ;)

Not ideal at all regarding markus I agree but sometimes these things happen.

The products are moving forward and are back in development with plenty of new releases over the coming months. I wanted to wait until the new team of coders of up to 20 have got their heads around the code with this major update to WWB followed by iWiccle updates to announce anything. Good timing however as this week was the week where it was time to announce many things, most are very good.

We have been all kept extremely busy for the last few months in sorting many things out. I have always been the main designer of these systems + from a coding background myself from ASM, C/C++, and it is not difficult or impossible to replace him. Far from it that you will see plenty of updates this year and a fast pace period that you saw in 2009 as an early adopter.

I will announce this week further developments, news, and much more. If you waiting on bug fixes, please email them to me until the new trac system goes online in the support section.

News Update:

Before the range of announcements get under way in the coming weeks that I will list in short form here, we have been very busy working on the systems & important changes which have taken hold over the previous few months. As a small start-up we have been growing in leaps & bounds where the journey is beginning to settle down.

  • 3 Updates to Wiccle Web Builder before & by summer 2011. This is to round off the current system features from modules to admin & builders. After this we will expand the core on a grand scale.
  • 2 Updates to iWiccle Community Builder before May 2011. iWiccle will enter the 2.0 status and include a range of new modules / features to complete this system as a leading community / social network software platform.
  • Wiccle #3 - Core system released independent of the two other systems for free with no ads to enter the Joomla, Drupal & Wordpress spaces.
  • Docs system is currently installed and worked on to provide step-by-step guides in how to use the Wiccle CMS platforms for end-users with the coder version following. Documentation is a vital part of the new releases happening & we will release on-going tutorials in building up a vast documentation section for all users including text, screenshots & videos.
  • Trac system is currently installed and we are adding the last parts to it next week. This will show what we are planning to put into each update but there will always be some parts that will arrive in that are not in the trac. The Trac system will be used to give each update an overall guide to future releases across all wiccle cms platforms and we will take direct input to adding new features from the community here. We want you to help be apart of this CMS future so your input will be taken on & your support will help us shape the content management systems to new heights that first serve your needs along with new users (end-users, designers, graphic artists, coders or businesses).
  • Support System including new tickets and bugs sections. This is currently installed and we are adding what we know that are bugs back into this new support area. You will be able to submit bug tickets, see their updates when fixed, etc. The forums is not ideal for tracking all bugs and this is why we are introducing this new support area, while forums can still be used to get help on & support by the community/
  • The Wiccle Web Builder Annual License is being removed and replaced with a one (1) domain life-time license instead. We have asked in private to various community members here, partners & showcase members on this change where we have had a 100% thumbs up that this move is a good move for everyone. The price for the annual license will be the same for the new life-time license (one domain only). The Wiccle Enterprise License still keeps it's value with the 10 domains with this change and will not require any changes. More details on this to follow.
  • New Partners who have been waiting for our own changes are ready to jump in and support the community from great hosting deals, tech support, mods / scripts, templates, marketing / social media, business planning for new online ventures, & much, much more.
  • Community benefits - We are going to introduce an affiliate / referral program for all wiccle community members. Where you get to share in the piece of the pie with us on sales. Money is not what drives us here in developing this systems or services, we want you to share in the future with us in every way possible.
  • Meet the Team - There is many of us here that are not even listed on the site in staff profiles, which will need an update in itself. I will show you around the office, meet the people behind Wiccle and see what life is like at our end behind this website.

More is coming very soon =)

Is that iWiccle update(s) coming up sometime? Curious to see what the new teams, or whoever's working on it, have done with the software... it's the first addition of someone else's code into the system. Cool

Yep it's pretty much there, a final round of tests will be needed in the coming days before release. We have built extra layers to allow expansion of the store module for a later date & other parts to interact with other modules we get to them. The update out first is WWB 1.1, which iWiccle will follow shortly after that of a 2.0 release. Further details will be announced on the trac system of what updates are coming for the whole year.

Please check out support.wiccle.com, you can see the latest bugs or features being knocked off the list as they are done.
